As Young Men's President, Derek was asked to chaperon the LDS Senior Prom they had here back in April. He brought me along and we had a delightful time of it. Since I graduated from High School a year early and never got to go to a Senior Prom, this was a fun step back in time! Derek took a ballroom dancing class when he was at BYU, so as long as I can follow, and he can lead, we have a lot of fun on the dance floor!
Our good friend Tracie Downs came and watched our kids for us so we could go and here are a couple of shots she caught before we left on our big date!
Ps: Because this was an LDS prom, the dress standards were high. Derek actually got in trouble because he didn't wear a tie! The head manager of the Courtyard Marriott where the dance was held is a member of the Church, so Derek found him and borrowed a tie. What an example to his youth! ha ha!
