Graduation day!

August 13, 2010

The BIG reason why were came to Utah is to celebrate Grandma Ellingson's graduation from BYU! She started her journey in the year 2000 with a 10 year goal. During her collegiate adventure she would often express frustration with her classes, classmates, or professors wanting to throw in the towel. She got a lot of words of encouragement from her family and with many of her sons also in college, she also got a lot of tips on how to study. Not only did she not give up, but she graduated top of her class! We were all very proud of her and honored to come celebrate her accomplishment!

Here are her biggest fans!

Great Grandpa Polatis (DeAnn's father) was there to celebrate too. In this picture is Tanner Joseph Ellingson and Joseph Tanner Ellingson!

I caught Tanner sitting with Grandpa Ellingson too. So, I asked for a shot.  Wouldn't you know it, they both spontaneously gave me the same goofy look. The DNA apple is falling not far at all from the tree!

Here is the graduation girl! I didn't get a picture of her in her graduation gown because I was busy with the kiddos, but after the ceremony and luncheon, we all met back at the house and played games. This was our first time to meet her brother Steve. He is a great guy and we really enjoyed spending time with him.

Some of the guys having a bubble gum blowing contest. Yes, my husband is one of those.

The next day we all went up to Mutual Dell in the American Fork canyon for some good times together as family. Not all of the 8 boys were able to make it to these celebrations and we certainly miss them. We always feel so grateful to be with family!
